Neurology is the branch of medicine which deals with the nervous system. The nervous system is further divided into two main categories: 1) Central Nervous System and 2) Peripheral Nervous System.
The Central Nervous System consists of the brain and the spinal cord. These two area are where most of the important decisions are made in the body. The Peripheral Nervous System consists of all the nerves leading to and from the spinal cord and brain. These nerves carry sensory and motor functions to and from the body. Some examples of common disease processes that occur in the nervous system are seizures, tumors and trauma. Diagnosis and treatment of these diseases are often difficult. We offer referral for advanced diagnostics such as MRI and CT scan imaging and advanced surgical procedures involving brain and spinal surgery.
