Parasitology

Parasitology is the study of parasites, the disease processes they cause and treatment of these diseases. Companion animals are susceptible to a large number of parasitic infections. The two most common in our area are fleas and heartworms.

Prevention of parasitic infection is the goal at Memorial-610 Hospital for Animals. Through the use of Interceptor® Heartworm preventative and Program® and Advantage® Flea control products, an effective and economical prevention program may be utilized for your pet.

Interceptor® and Program® have recently been combined into one product called Sentinel®. Sentinel® allows owners to give monthly heartworm, intestinal parasite and flea control in one monthly dose with the same safety and efficacy as Interceptor® and Program®.
