Internal Medicine

Internal Medicine is a branch of medicine which treats diseases of the internal organs by other than surgical means. All of the other braches of medicine which deal with specific internal organs are sub-branches of internal medicine (i.e. cardiology is a branch of internal medicine).

In human medicine, sub-specialties exists for almost every organ in the body. For example, a urologist would diagnose and treat disorders of the urinary system. In veterinary medicine, urology would most likely be handled by an internal medicine specialist, perhaps with a special interest in urology.

At Memorial-610 Hospital for Animals, we deal daily with diagnosis and treatment of various diseases of the internal organs. At times, advanced diagnosis and treatment of various problems is needed. Advanced diagnostics, such as ultrasound and endoscopy, are available at our hospital and allow us to provide exceptional care to our patients. We work closely with internal medicine specialists to provide the best possible care for our patients.
