Internal Medicine

Internal Medicine is a branch of medicine which treats diseases of the internal organs by other than surgical means. All of the other braches of medicine which deal with specific internal organs are sub-branches of internal medicine (i.e. cardiology is a branch of internal medicine).

In human medicine, sub-specialties exists for almost every organ in the body. For example, a urologist would diagnose and treat disorders of the urinary system. In veterinary medicine, urology would most likely be handled by an internal medicine specialist, perhaps with a special interest in urology.

At Memorial-610 Hospital for Animals, we deal daily with diagnosis and treatment of various diseases of the internal organs. At times, advanced diagnosis and treatment of various problems is needed.
